Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

This internship offers a valuable opportunity for aspiring accountants to gain practical experience in the finance field. An accounting intern will work closely with the finance team, assisting with various tasks such as processing invoices, maintaining financial records, and supporting budget preparation. This position is paid at Php 400.00 per day, providing interns with a chance to develop their skills while contributing to the organization's financial processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the finance team to process invoices, track expenses, and ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring all documentation is properly filed.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial reports, providing insights to support decision-making.
  • Aid in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all entries are accurately recorded.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Input financial data into relevant systems, performing basic data analysis to support reporting efforts.
  • Support the finance team in monitoring and reconciling accounts to identify discrepancies.
  • Help in the preparation of tax-related documentation and compliance reports as needed.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of improved accounting procedures and practices.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as assigned to contribute to the overall success of the finance department.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. 

Qualifications to be successful in the role

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with other MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines.
  • Eagerness to learn new concepts and take initiative in problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and practices, with a willingness to expand knowledge.
  • Capable of handling confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Must be willing to work on-site in our office located in Olongapo City
