The Chemical/Sanitary Engineer is responsible for the overall water and sanitation projects including environmental health management, water supply and water quality, health promotion, and chemical control. These also include project appraisal, design, and implementation. He/she should at least have access to pertinent literature regarding vector control involving chemical measures. As a Chemical/Sanitary Engineer, you will play a vital role in advancing our sustainable water management solutions and supporting critical infrastructure projects that positively impact communities.

Our salary range for this position, based on the market data, is Php30-40k per month (the range varies depending on experience and qualifications).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, design, and implement water and wastewater treatment processes, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards
  • Coordinates water quality sampling; testing and review of process control information for water and wastewater treatment; regulatory testing and reports; water and wastewater research activities with other agencies to ensure water quality compliance
  • Conduct assessments and troubleshoot issues in treatment plants
  • Propose innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project planning, scope, and execution, including process optimization and technology selection
  • Perform technical analysis to evaluate process performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support environmental sustainability initiatives
  • Plans, organizes, supervises and evaluates the work of subordinate technical employees
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and regulatory submissions to ensure adherence to project requirements and applicable laws
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

Qualifications to be successful in the role

  • Degree in Chemical, Sanitary, Environmental Engineer, or a related field
  • Must be a licensed engineer
  • 4 to 7 years of proven experience in water and wastewater treatment engineering
  • Willing to be based in Subic, Zambales, and be able to travel to various project sites (local and international)
  • Strong understanding of treatment processes and regulatory requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of water standards and regulations
  • Ability to apply sanitary engineering principles to problems of wastewater collection and treatment and potable water production treatment and distribution
  • Ability to interpret rules, regulations, and policies and to make decisions in accordance with established precedent
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and to prepare technical reports
  • Proficiency in industry-specific software and technologies (e.g., AutoCAD)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a proactive approach to project challenges and stakeholder collaboration
  • Possess updated passport and driver’s license
