The Logistician is an entry-level supply chain professional responsible for supporting the efficient flow of goods from sourcing and procurement through storage and final delivery. This role focuses on assisting purchasing, inventory control, transportation, and warehousing activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and accurate movement of materials. Using analytical and problem-solving skills, the Logistician I helps identify inefficiencies, supports process improvements, and ensures compliance with established procedures and regulations. The role operates across diverse industries such as manufacturing, defense, healthcare, or related sectors and typically requires a bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, or relevant professional certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain Management: Support and monitor the end-to-end product life cycle, ensuring the efficient and timely movement of materials and goods from suppliers through distribution to end users. 
  • Operations Management: Assist in purchasing, inventory control, warehousing, and distribution activities to maintain optimal stock levels and support operational requirements. 
  • Data & Systems: Utilize logistics and supply chain management systems to plan, track, monitor, and analyze logistical activities, ensuring data accuracy and process efficiency. 
  • Problem Solving: Identify supply chain issues, delays, or inefficiencies and contribute to the development and implementation of corrective actions and process improvements. 
  • Coordination & Communication: Coordinate with suppliers, clients, carriers, and internal departments to ensure smooth logistics operations and alignment of supply chain activities.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate logistics data, identify trends, and support effective supply chain planning. 
  • Proven ability in complex problem-solving, with the capacity to identify root causes of logistical issues and implement practical, timely solutions. 
  •  Sound judgment and decision-making skills to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and make informed decisions under pressure. 
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain operational efficiency. 
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory records, documentation, and logistical processes
