The Geodetic Engineer is responsible for conducting land and engineering surveys, processing spatial data, and generating accurate maps, 3D models, and technical documents required for project planning and development. This role involves handling survey datasets, operating advanced geospatial technologies such as LiDAR and photogrammetry, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The engineer will also prepare, validate, and stamp survey files in accordance with PRC licensing requirements.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct land, topographic, and engineering surveys using standard and advanced survey equipment.
  • Process, validate, and interpret survey data to produce accurate maps, plans, and technical drawings.
  • Handle all spatial and survey datasets, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Perform LiDAR data processing, including point cloud classification and model generation.
  • Create 3D models and measurements from 2D photographs using photogrammetric techniques.
  • Work with photogrammetry data and prepare outputs required for design and analysis.
  • Prepare and review survey reports, computations, and geodetic deliverables.
  • Certify, sign, and stamp survey plans and documents in compliance with PRC regulation.
  • Ensure field and office survey work meets project specifications, standards, and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project teams to support planning and development tasks.
  • Maintain proper documentation and archiving survey records and digital files.
  • Provide technical insights and recommendations based on collected geospatial data.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geodetic Engineering.
  • Licensed Geodetic Engineer (PRC).
  • Proven experience in land surveying, geospatial data processing, or related field.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with: 
    o    LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) data processing
    o    Photogrammetry, including generating 3D models and measurements from 2D images
    o    Handling and interpreting photogrammetry and survey-related files
  • Proficient in survey instruments (Total Station, GNSS/GPS, levels, etc.).
  • Familiar with mapping and geospatial software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS tools, Agisoft, Pix4D, or similar)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to certify and stamp survey-related documents as required by regulation.
