Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
As an IT Security Analyst, you will play a critical role in protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization’s information systems. You will ensure cybersecurity practices align with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC Level 2 and other FAR/DFAR cybersecurity requirements to maintain compliance with DoD contracts and Federal government security standards. You will proactively monitor security controls, identify vulnerabilities, support audits, and implement risk mitigation strategies. You will apply your expertise in threat detection, incident response, and security best practices to safeguard sensitive data and maintain regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with CMMC Level 2 and NIST SP 800-171 frameworks.
- Develop compliance documentation and support audits.
- Monitor and analyze security events and logs across systems to detect and respond to threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement remediation plans.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement security policies, access controls, and system hardening.
- Investigate and document security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and support recovery.
- Provide cybersecurity training and awareness campaigns across the organization.
- Administer and maintain endpoint protection, firewall, and SIEM tools.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in IT or cybersecurity roles.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, such as CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, ISO 27001, or similar
- Proficient in CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+
- Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH (preferred)
