We are seeking experienced Construction Inspector (CI) that will support the Engineering & Weapons Training Building Phase 2 project at USCG TRACEN Yorktown, VA. You will be responsible for ensuring construction activities comply with contract documents, monitoring quality and safety, reviewing schedules, payment requests, testing reports, and maintaining project documentation. You will serve as an advisor to the Contracting Officer (KO), Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), and Project Manager (PM), while supporting successful project delivery from construction mobilization through project completion.

This position is contingent upon contract award of the contract. If awarded, the anticipated period of performance will be approximately from October 1, 2026 through July 31, 2028.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes as directed. 
  • Review contract documents, construction schedules, and proposed construction changes. 
  • Perform daily inspection and surveillance of construction work for contract compliance. 
  • Witness field tests and review testing reports and materials for specification compliance. 
  • Monitor survey operations, submittals, and as-built drawings. 
  • Identify and report non-compliant work and safety violations. 
  • Review payment requests, certified payrolls, and project schedule updates. 
  • Maintain daily diaries, project files, logs, and construction records. 
  • Prepare and submit weekly progress reports with construction photographs. 
  • Participate in pre-final and final inspections and assist with punch list completion. 
  • Review operation and maintenance manuals and installation instructions. 
  • Conduct labor standards of interviews and maintain project documentation archives.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Construction Inspector, Contractor Superintendent, or Quality Control Manager, or 5 years of relevant experience combined with a related degree, professional certification, or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience on Federal Government construction projects within the last 10 years. 
  • Knowledge of building systems, utilities, construction trades, drawings, specifications, and building codes.
  • Ability to prepare reports, manage documentation, and utilize construction management software.
  • Ability to safeguard sensitive information and comply with Government requirements.
  • Submission shall include a resume (maximum of four pages), letter of commitment, pricing proposal, and acknowledgment of amendments.
