The Technology Division Manager leads Planate’s Technology Division in the Philippines, overseeing a new but growing team for Drone Services, Engineering Surveying, Robotics, and 3D Manufacturing. The role spans people leadership, technical oversight, and strategy, ensuring safe, compliant, high-quality delivery of innovative solutions for internal initiatives and client programs across the region and globally. The Manager aligns the division’s portfolio with corporate strategy, implements standardized processes, and cultivates a culture of excellence and operational discipline.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Division Strategy – Support the VP in managing vision, roadmap, and annual operating plans for the Philippines and Indo-Pacific partnerships.
  • Standards & KPIs – Establish and enforce divisionwide procedures and performance metrics for quality, safety, and delivery.
  • Technology Adoption – Lead scouting and integration of robotics, UAS, additive manufacturing, and geospatial technologies.
  • Team Leadership – Manage team leads and engineers, set goals, conduct reviews, and oversee succession/workforce planning.
  • Learning Culture – Define training paths, mentor emerging leaders, and coordinate with HR/L&D for skills development.
  • Project Oversight – Supervise project portfolios, review scopes/schedules/budgets, and manage interdependencies and risks.
  • Technical Guidance – Provide expertise in systems integration, additive manufacturing workflows, UAS operations, and surveying.
  • Compliance & Safety – Ensure regulatory compliance (CAAP, SBFZ), maintain OSH programs, and uphold quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Act as liaison with leadership, HR, clients, and external forums; deliver briefs and presentations.
  • Operations Management – Oversee procurement, supplier compliance, asset utilization, maintenance, and other assigned duties.

 

Qualifications to be successful in the role: 

  • At least 8–10 years of professional engineering or technology delivery experience, including leading technical teams in surveying, drone/UAS services, advanced/3D manufacturing, and/or robotics; managing multi‑discipline technology portfolios and cross‑site teams; with experience in APAC collaboration and U.S. stakeholder engagement preferred.
  • Relevant certifications or licensing in project management, engineering, robotics/automation, additive manufacturing, geospatial/surveying (e.g., GNSS/LiDAR) are advantageous.
  • Demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering teams (robotics, UAS, manufacturing, or surveying).
  • Strong program and portfolio management: scoping, prioritization, resourcing, budgeting, risk management, and delivery.
  • Technical depth to review designs, workflows, processes, and de-risk system integration across hardware, firmware/software, and field operations.
  • Familiarity with Philippine regulatory and operating environments, including CAAP (UAS), Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ) requirements, and/or standard engineering/survey practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to brief both executives and clients in English; skilled in stakeholder alignment and change management.
  • High energy, integrity, and a builder mindset focused on innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to lead multicultural, cross-time zone teams; comfortable overlapping with worldwide time zones as needed.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills in dynamic settings.
  • Must be willing to work onsite in Subic Bay, Zambales.
