Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking a Mechanical Quality Control Engineer to ensure that mechanical systems and installations meet project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. You will have frequent inspections during installation and final completion stages. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct QC surveillance and inspections for mechanical installations.
  • Monitor mechanical construction activities to ensure compliance with design and specifications.
  • Perform installation inspections and final acceptance inspections.
  • Coordinate with construction teams to address quality issues.
  • Prepare inspection reports and maintain documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and project requirements

Qualifications to be successful in the role: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineer.
  • Must be a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience or 5 years of experience supervising mechanical construction work in the field.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems used in building construction.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
