The Junior Finance Specialist is responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting functions across the organization. This includes overseeing payroll, accounts payable and receivable, tax filings, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The role also involves resolving discrepancies, coordinating with various departments and divisions, and supporting operational accounting needs—including inventory and financial management.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full accounting cycle, including journal entries, ledgers, reconciliations, and month/year-end close.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and statutory requirements.
  • Manage payroll operations end-to-end, including computation, disbursement, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
  • Handle A/P and A/R processes, ensuring proper classification, invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, calculate depreciation, and manage asset capitalization/disposals.
  • Ensure timely tax filings and statutory compliance (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG), liaising with auditors and regulators.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to aid decision-making and cost control.
  • Drive audit readiness, internal controls, and process improvements while coordinating cross-departmental financial support.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

 

Deliverables:

  •  Accurate monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Timely payroll processing and statutory tax filings.
  • Fully reconciled accounts with discrepancies resolved.
  • Updated and accurate inventory records for F&A operations.
  • Comprehensive cross-functional financial support and documentation.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including general ledger, payroll, and reporting.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory compliance requirements (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support management decision-making.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-departmental coordination and audit support.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and recommend process improvements.
